Too Hot: I have to say, I do love turtlenecks. My girlfriend wore one this morning when we met very briefly before I started work. If ever in doubt of what to wear, turtlenecks are the way to go. (This has been my random moment of the week.) Another really hot (or is the expression 'cool'?) aspect to the developing media program at the college is the new digital media worklab above the new student center. A chance run in with the professor gave me the neat opportunity to look around for the first time, and I must say the film studio and the Mac lab looks wicked hot. It's fantastic the opportunities that these students have at this school.
I chose this school a year ago out of several media-serving colleges because of the atmosphere of the environment and the friendliness of the students and faculty. This college really is an enriching and inspiring place; anyone learning here will benefit from all the neat things that are happening here. I have the unique position this semester of having been here last year, yet only observing as someone working in the caf. I still am around though and look forward to hanging out with friends and working with my internship right here on campus. It's exciting to be a part of this community.
The president of the university is from the same town as my family moved into several years ago and I usually bring back the local bologna when I visit home. I'm afraid it slipped my mind this trip, so I'll have to doubly remember at the beginning of next month, when I return to my home church to play the drums for the worship.
Too Cool: The temperature on campus is wicked cool, due to the furnace being turned on only after the 15th of October - despite the condition of the bad weather planned for this week. So while it was very cool even behind the serving station I have decided to go ahead with my plans for the rest of the afternoon. I am sitting in the new student center - named by yours truly (that's another story for sometime) - and I intend to fully take care of all of my planning for the next several weeks. And I must Tweet. Oh, how I must. I will not live until I Tweet again... well, perhaps I am able to have a life outside of social media. However, as I must begin to build more of an online profile, I have added Twitter to my reputation. Having completed my freshman year at the college I was required to start some of these online forums for class; however, I never used them much, not truly seeing the need for them. I am hoping these things I am beginning will help me meet more contacts and I have also created them out of necessity for my new internship, which deals heavily in social media. I have even thought of starting a Vlog (video blog).
Until I do I am going to begin my afternoon work, hopefully in good time and with a little extra to spend in the library as I continue my second read through of the Lord of the Rings. but only if I have enough time. If I find any interesting insights from reading, you'll be the first to know...
